Our commitment
Maor Aharon Studio wants everyone, including people with disabilities, to be able to browse the work, ask about a piece and buy it on this website independently and comfortably. We have adapted the site for accessibility and keep improving it.
The standard we follow
The site was adapted to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. WCAG 2.1 level AA includes all the requirements of WCAG 2.0 level AA, on which Israeli Standard SI 5568 is based, as referred to in the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.
What we did
- The whole site can be used with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator. A "Skip to content" link at the top of every page jumps past the header.
- The menu can be opened and closed with the keyboard; Esc closes it and returns you to the menu button.
- Pages are built with headings, landmarks (header, navigation, main content, footer) and the correct language and reading direction (Hebrew right to left), so screen readers can read and navigate them.
- Images have text alternatives; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers. Buttons that show only an icon (menu, cart, remove) have spoken names.
- Form fields have visible labels. Errors are explained in text next to the field and are read out by screen readers. Status messages (added to cart, message sent, payment confirmed) are announced too.
- Text and controls meet the WCAG AA colour-contrast ratios.
- Text can be enlarged to 200%, and the site works on narrow screens (320 pixels wide) without scrolling sideways.
- Movement is minimal and follows your device's "reduce motion" setting. There is no flashing content and no audio or video.
How the site was checked
The site was checked with the automated tool axe-core against WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 levels A and AA, on every page and state (menu open, cart with pieces, form errors, Hebrew and English), and manually: keyboard-only use, 200% zoom, narrow-screen layout, and screen-reader use with VoiceOver on iPhone (Safari). Automated tools find only part of the problems, so your feedback matters to us.
The site is designed for current versions of the common browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) on computers and phones.
Known limitations
- Payment pages. Payment by card or PayPal is completed on the secure payment page of Morning (Green Invoice), and on PayPal's pages where relevant. These pages belong to third parties; we do not control their accessibility. If you have difficulty paying, contact us and we will help you complete the purchase another way.
- External sites. Links to Instagram, WhatsApp and other external sites lead to services we do not control.
- Product photos. Each photo is described by the name of the piece, without a detailed visual description. If you would like a fuller description of a piece (colours, texture, size), contact us and we will gladly send one.
- Language. Most of the site, including the product descriptions, is in English. The terms of sale and this statement are also available in Hebrew.
Visiting or collecting from the studio
Pieces can also be collected from the studio in Tel Aviv-Yafo by appointment. If you need an accessibility arrangement for a visit or collection, tell us when we arrange it and we will do our best to accommodate you.
